It's a Long Nite- Fake Mega Dragonite

Description

Mega Dragonite
Type- Dragon/Flying
Ability- Swift Swim
Mega Stone- Dragonïte (Drah-Go-Knee-Aight)
Description- "Mega Evolution has caused a sizable change in Dragonite, increasing the length of its tail so drastically that it joins the ranks of some of the longest Pokemon ever recorded. In spite of its size, Mega Dragonite can fly effortlessly over the ocean thanks to its enormous wingspan and takes to the water with the finesse of a fully-aquatic Pokemon. Before diving it pulls its arms and wings in tight and gracefully plunges into the sea, leaving an unexpectedly small impact on the ocean’s surface. "
Stats-
HP:                  91 -> 91 (0)
Attack:          134 -> 135 (1)
Defense:         95 -> 120 (25)
Sp. Attack:    100 -> 135 (35)
Sp. Defense: 100 -> 135 (35)
Speed:            80 -> 84 (4)
Total:            600 -> 700 (100)
Potential Moves
-Calm Mind

[Blank BG Version]

Since I’m biased-- having always felt bad for poor old Dragonite-- my idea for a Mega Evolution of it started out as a means for the original Pseudo-Legendary to get revenge on its old bullies... You know, those two Dragon/Flying-types who have overshadowed it since the 3rd Gen: Salamence and Rayquaza. However I quickly realized there was no way to dethrone those two without making Dragonite a new tyrant who has to be overthrown in turn. Sure giving it a Dragon-type “–Ate” ability would give it a super-effective STAB priority move in Extreme Speed to use against them, but what’s to stop it from indiscriminately using that power on everything that finds itself in its way (AKA anything without Dragon immunity)?

In the end I decided even my own somewhat facetious vendetta could hardly justify that level of hypothetical destruction and settled on something a bit more situational. Dragonite is usually forced to rely on its physical moves despite having a lot of variety in its movepool. It has strong special moves including Hurricane, a Flying-type STAB move it desperately wishes it could exploit. The obvious answer to this is of course the perfect accuracy supplied by Rain… However while giving it Drizzle might give it the capacity to indiscriminately unleash devastating Hurricanes and Thunders on everything it wants for five turns, it does nothing for its awkwardly-average speed stat that leaves it as helpless to resist faster Dragon & Ice-types as its base form. So Swift Swim offers a trade-off: the possibility of a dangerously fast and accurate special attacker Dragonite becomes available, but it needs Rain Dance or someone else to summon rain first. A Pokemon with strong moves, bulk, and potentially speed as well may sound like a nightmare, but it’s still a Mega Pokemon with exploitable weaknesses that needs its weather of choice to thrive… Making it easily countered and dealt with when facing the wrong opponents.

My favorite Mega Evolutions are usually the kind that takes aspects of prior evolutions (If they have any) without undermining the Pokemon's design or coming across as a “downgrade”. Combining that signature “goofy orange dragon” look with the serpentine body, wings, orbs, and coloration of Dragonair (And to a lesser extent, Dratini) works well for that kind of compromise IMO.

--I don't own either Pokemon or Dragonite, they belong to Nintendo/Creatures Inc/GAME FREAK Inc--
